- Transmit read status in numeric WhatsApp
Let your customers see when their message was actually read — not just when it was received by your system.
With read status sync enabled, WhatsApp will show the “Read” checkmarks (✓✓ in blue) only after an operator opens the message inside Chat2Desk — not just when it’s delivered.
✅ This feature is only available for numeric WhatsApp accounts connected via Chat2Desk.
By default, WhatsApp may mark a message as “read” the moment it enters your inbox — even if no one has looked at it. This can lead to misunderstandings and missed expectations.
This setting ensures that your customers see a message as “Read” only when a real person reads it. That means better transparency and smoother conversations.
How to turn it on
- Go to Settings > Accounts.
- Find your WhatsApp account and click the pencil icon ✏️.
- In the settings window, enable Send read status to customer.
- Click OK to save.
Once turned on, customers will only see the “Read” status after an operator opens their message in Chat2Desk.
To disable automatic “Read” marking:
- Contact our Support Team.
- Ask them to turn off automatic read status for incoming messages.
Messages will still arrive and be handled normally. You’re just making sure WhatsApp reflects actual operator activity.
