Working with Telegram group chats
Group chats are supported only in the Telegram API connection. If you want messages from group chats to be sent to the service, you should turn off the bot's privacy mode.
- Open a chat with BotFather using the Telegram account that owns the bot.
- Type the command /mybots and select the bot you want to use
- Select the Bot Settings
- Select Group Privacy
- Bots have this setting enabled by default. Click Turn off to disable the setting.
- Once this setting is disabled, the bot will be able to receive messages from group chats. If the bot can't be added to a group, check the Allow Groups? setting
To make it possible to add the bot to group chats, the setting must be in the enabled state
Working with WhatsApp group chats
Group chats are only supported in a WhatsApp Business connection. WABA numbers cannot be added to groups.
To send messages from group chats to the service, it is necessary for any of the group members to send a message after adding a connected number.
How to create a group in WhatsApp?
- Open the WhatsApp app and click on the three dots on the top right. Then tap on New group
- WhatsApp contacts list will open. You need to select the contacts that will be in the group from this list. If necessary, you can add a new contact. At the bottom of the list there will be a button for adding a New Contact. After selecting the group members, you need to click the green arrow.
To create a group chat you need to select at least 1 participant.
- The next menu allows you to choose a name for the group and an avatar (optional), as well as customize disappearing messages and group permissions. When you click the green check mark, the group chat will be created.
